Looking Ahead to Dynamics GP (Great Plains) 2015 at reIMAGINE 2014

Microsoft doled out some sneak peeks at a lot of what is to come for Microsoft Dynamics GP at the reIMAGINE 2014 event this week in Fargo, the birthplace of what was once called Great Plains software. Long ago, the event was known as Stampede, and then it was called the Microsoft Dynamics GP Technical Airlift, and now it has been re-imagined as reIMAGINE.

Microsoft Dynamics GP product marketing manager Errol Schoenfish and product development manager Jeff Trosen were on hand, just as they were at the Microsoft Dynamics GP User Group (GPUG) Summit last month. They were showing off some of the latest Microsoft Dynamics GP features again, including a now-available app that puts Business Analyzer on your iPad.

A new Microsoft Dynamics GP roadmap was unveiled that extends through 2015. Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 is slated for release December 1st, of course, and two more major releases will be coming in calendar year 2015, as Microsoft continues to follow the plan of delivering a major release every six months. Both will include “top features requested by customers,” as those will be added as they are finished. The first major update will also include tools to simplify provisioning, and a time management app. The second major update will include an HTML5 user interface, Workflow V3, and SBA enhancements.

But the next release, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015, is right around the corner, bursting with 122 new features! Samples? A new time management app is built into Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015, so you can track vacations and sick time, all with workflow. Management Reporter reports will now be available inside Microsoft Dynamics GP in a navigation list. And copy and paste from Excel to the GL is now a core feature. And that’s just scratching the surface!
