When you are downloading Microsoft Dynamics GP related files from Microsoft Dynamics File Exchange, have you gotten a window displaying the message above, and then nothing happens? Microsoft recently addressed this issue on their Microsoft Dynamics Community website, and they suggested some potential fixes for the problem.
Derek Albaugh writes there that the problem most commonly comes from using Internet Explorer 11, though that is not always the issue. If it is an Internet Explorer 11 issue, there are a couple of things you can do to fix it and to get your files to download.
One potential fix, while in Internet Explorer 11, is to either press ALT+X or to click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the browser window, then click on “Compatibility View Settings.” In the next window, add Microsoft.com to the websites list for compatibility view, then click Close to save the changes. You may need to close Internet Explorer before trying to download the files again.
Another option, when you get the above window, is to hit the F12 key, which will open the Developer Tools section of the browser window. Select the Emulation tab and take a look at the Document Mode field. This field will normally be set to 11 by default for Internet Explorer 11, or to “Edge” for the Microsoft Edge browser. Change this field to 10 to emulate Internet Explorer 10, and this will refresh the browser window. You’ll then see the File Transfer Manager window displaying your happily downloading files. Note that this setting does not remain in place after the browser is closed.
