As Sarah Purdy writes in her Microsoft Dynamics GP blog, the 2014 U.S. Year End Update is available for both Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 and Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, and she includes greatly detailed tips for installation and upgrade in the blog. The year-end update is a key annual component to the year-end process, and a big part of what makes Microsoft Dynamics GP such a great solution to be driving when you’re closing the year.
It is important to note that the 2014 U.S. Year End Update for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 does not contain Affordable Care Act changes. But the 2014 U.S. Year End Update for Microsoft Dynamics 2013 does contain Affordable Care Act changes. Both releases are MSP files, and all MSP files are cumulative: all prior service packs, hotfixes, compliance, and year-end updates are included in the most recent release. As an example, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 is included in the Year End Update for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.
The update must be installed on all servers and workstations that have a Microsoft Dynamics GP installation, or a version error will occur when launching Microsoft Dynamics GP. If you are using Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 6.0, and you utilize the Human Resources Self Service Suite, you will need to install the Business Portal hotfix on the Business Portal server.
