Microsoft has recently introduced web applications (apps) for Microsoft Dynamics SL that enable users to access the solution from any device that supports HTML5, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. The initial release, Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 Web Apps CU1 (cumulative update 1), available now, is aimed at Microsoft Dynamics SL Project functionality. But Microsoft plans to release more apps for Microsoft Dynamics SL every few months.
The current release includes the following:
- Microsoft Dynamics SL Project Time Entry (including support for standard and project flex time entry)
- Microsoft Dynamics SL Project Expense Entry (including support for attaching receipts)
- Microsoft Dynamics SL Project Time and Expense Approvals
- Microsoft Dynamics SL Project Analyst (now available as SSRS reports)
Much more is coming in 2014, including Project Communicator, Project Timesheet Entry, Project Maintenance & Inquiry, Address Maintenance, Contract Value and Revenue Information, and Item Request Entry and Approval.
The new web apps enable your employees to record time and travel expenses anytime, anywhere. Managers can view and track labor and other expenses anytime, anywhere. Streamline the collection of labor and project expenses with timecards and expense reports that can be entered remotely with whatever devices your employees use.
The app timecards and expense reports are intuitive and easy to use, and the interfaces are built to scale to the size of the device being used. Online timecards and expense reports are automatically routed to managers. Once approved, timecards and expense entries update other integrated Microsoft Dynamics SL modules.
The new web apps for Microsoft Dynamics SL make it easier than ever for you to do business when, where, and how you need to do business.
